Union of body and mind through a combination of breathing, asanas (postures) and mental focus. Improves strength, stamina and flexibility. Yoga brings a challenge to the body and mind. The focus and awareness required to perfect the physical postures ultimately produces the concept of meditation in action. Hence the subtle communication between mind and body allows one to create harmony within and so better equips us to cope with the highs and lows of life. Lung capacity, heart performance, muscular strength and suppleness improve and you will become aware of feeling more calm yet energised and alive!
We run classes in many formats and we advise you to try a few styles to see what suits your mind and body.
Ashtanga: Energetic with flowing postures, builds heat & strength to detoxify the body. Our Monday class is 1.5hrs working through the full Primary Series.
Power: Freestyle modelled on Astanga but no set sequences!
Vinyasa Krama Yoga: A vinyasa practice that gives a thoroughly good stretch; relaxing the body, and a long exhalation that calms the mind. Leaving you feel chilled & energised.
Hatha: A good mix of Vinyasa flows and static postures, a well rounded general class.
Rejuvenation: Slower paced, works on breaking down postures, breathing techniques, energy blocks & relaxation. Includes a monthly total relaxation guided meditation Nidra class.

Men Friendly: Designed to overcome male shyness so men too can enjoy a total body workout- Mondays 8.15pm Ashtanga with Martin, and Tuesdays 8.15pm Vinyasa Krama with Gary. NB. Women are still more than welcome to join in these classes. Intro to Yoga Workshops: For those with little or no experience in yoga, come and learn the basics of yoga to help you get into a regular class. Ask reception for monthly workshop dates. |
